BHAC Tennis Team Coaching Staff
Gary Nicholls is entering his 15th year as head coach at BHAC and has been instrumental in the program‘s growth and expansion. He has previously been the head coach of the JV Girls tennis team at Groves High School and head coach of both the Boys and Girls teams at Berkshire Middle School. He coached the Varsity Boys and Girls teams at Farmington High School for six years before retiring in 2013 to be a soccer dad. Retirement lasted until he helped Groves by coaching the Varsity Girls team for the 2014 season, and then assisted with the Groves JV Boys team during the fall of 2015. He is a certified instructor through the U.S. Professional Tennis Association and has been a USTA member since 1989. Gary is also the league director for the entire NOCSSL.
Nathan Cohen is entering his 15th summer as BHAC’s Assistant Head Coach. He experienced much success as a junior player, holding a top 10 ranking in Southeast Michigan for 6 years and a top 70 ranking for 6 years in the Midwest. He played number one singles all four years at Groves High School and was all-state his junior and senior years. He was head tennis pro at the University Club of MSU from 1998 to 2000 and has served as tennis pro for the Birmingham Racquet Club, MAC and Court One Athletic Clubs in East Lansing, the Sports Club of West Bloomfield, and the Orchard Lake Country Club. He was also the upper JV coach for the Boys team at Seaholm High School in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Tom "TK" Kuskowski is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) as a teaching professional. This year will mark TK's 12th year coaching the Juniors Program and clinics at BHAC. Over the past five years, TK has also been coaching the BHAC Women's Travel Team, and conducts several adult women's clinics and Adult Mixers at BHAC. During the spring and fall tennis seasons, he coaches the Varsity Girls and Boys teams at Farmington High School. TK has almost 40 years of experience as a recreational player.
Kate Myers is excited for her first summer coaching tennis at BHAC. Kate picked up a tennis racket when she was 6 years old and has been playing ever since. She played doubles for the Academy of the Sacred Heart her Sophomore and Junior year. Kate was named Captain of her team Senior year, but was unable to play due to COVID-19. With her teammates, Kate secured two Regional and two State Championships. Kate will be studying Biology in the College of Pre-Health Sciences at Texas Christian University this Fall. Kate has plans to become a trauma surgeon one day!
Will Hess is excited for his first summer coaching tennis at BHAC. Will will be attending Indiana University in the Fall.
